Volunteer Voices: Spotlight on Ron Chorzewski

Volunteer Voices,

Today’s Volunteer Voice is Ron Chorzewski. He was recently recognized on our social media platforms for his service on the AAOE Advocacy Council.  Ron is the CEO of Agility Orthopedics in Stoneham, Massachusetts. We are thankful for his many years of ongoing leadership and dedication to AAOE.  Appreciation to Ron for sharing the following with us:

What made you decide to volunteer with the Advocacy Council and what words of encouragement do you have for others that may consider doing so?

I have been a long-time volunteer with the AAOE.  I find participation in committees facilitates the new relationships that make being a member so valuable.  If you want to look forward to coming to the 2026 AAOE Annual Conference to meet people you have learned to love and respect through committee work, then I highly recommend that you volunteer. My service makes me feel informed, impactful, and prepared.

What made you decide to volunteer with AAOE and what words of encouragement do you have for others that may consider doing so?

At my first AAOE conference in May of this year, I was inspired by the energy, collaboration, and sense of community among colleagues who share similar challenges and passions. Volunteering felt like the natural next step to stay engaged in such a positive experience. In healthcare, we face high-pressure situations daily, and AAOE provides a refreshing opportunity to connect, learn, and contribute in meaningful ways. Even small contributions… sharing an idea, offering perspective, or supporting a colleague can make a difference. To those considering volunteering, I’d encourage you to dive in. You’ll gain just as much as you give, if not more.

Which AAOE member benefit do you use most and why?

While I value several benefits, AAOE Collaborate stands out the most. It’s an invaluable space where practices of all sizes can connect, share experiences, and problem-solve together. Whether it’s departmental challenges, workflow improvements, or even simply confirming that “we’re not the only ones going through this,” AAOE Collaborate provides both practical advice and a sense of support. It turns what could feel like isolated challenges into opportunities to learn from peers who have walked the same path.

Why are you enthusiastic about the orthopedic practice profession?

Orthopedics combines science, skill, and impact in such a unique way. It’s a specialty where you can see tangible, often immediate results from the work being done. From preventive strategies to surgical interventions, orthopedics helps restore mobility, independence, and quality of life. There’s something incredibly rewarding about watching a patient go from being “broken” to being able to walk, work, or play again. That transformation drives my enthusiasm for the profession every day.

Keep up the great work, Lexi! We appreciate you and wish you all the very best in your new role.
