Kemuel Carey, MBA, MHS, PA-C, ATC, FACHE provides our latest Volunteer Voice. He is the CEO of Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates in Salisbury, Maryland. AAOE proudly recognizes Kemuel for his service on the Education and Technology Council. For Kemuel, volunteering provides an important channel to help others grow. What made you decide to volunteer with AAOE and what words of encouragement do you have for others that may consider doing so?
I love learning from others and this was an opportunity to give back. I have been fortunate to have several mentors and AAOE friends who helped me along my journey. To others, sharing your knowledge is your legacy. Life is short; share your lessons learned more often. My service on the Education and Technology Council feels valuable, productive, and impactful.
Which AAOE benefit or service do you use most and why?
AAOE's Annual Conference, as it provides a networking opportunity to learn and grow together. I hope you plan to join us April 18-20 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Why are you enthusiastic about the orthopedic practice profession?
As an athletic trainer, physician assistant, and now a practice executive, I have always loved orthopedics! As a clinician, there is great joy in "fixing" people and returning them to their daily lives improved. Similarly, supporting a team to help people brings great joy!
