Volunteer Voices: Spotlight on Rebecca Hunt
AAOE recently recognized Rebecca Hunt for her service on the Young and New Professionals Council. Rebecca is the Office Manager of Orthopaedic Associates of Marlborough, PC in Marlborough, Massachusetts. We are pleased to have her as this edition’s Volunteer Voice. Thank you, Rebecca, for your passion and dedication to our organization – and for sharing the following with us.
Which AAOE member benefit or resource do you utilize most often and why?
"I use Collaborate all the time—it’s such a helpful space to ask questions, bounce ideas around, or just see how others are handling similar challenges. And it feels good to be able to help someone else out when I’ve been through the same thing. I also get a lot out of AAOE’s educational resources—webinars, roundtable calls, the learning center, and of course, the annual conference. There’s always something useful, whether I’m solving a specific problem or just trying to stay sharp."
Why are you enthusiastic about the orthopedic practice profession? "Because bones are amazing! I started as a medical assistant—rooming patients, removing casts, applying splints—and worked my way through billing into administration. Every step has shown me how rewarding this field is. Orthopedics is results-driven, hands-on, and always evolving. I love knowing the work I do supports real recovery and helps the whole team do what they do best."
What experiences or encouragement about serving as an AAOE volunteer would you like to share with your peers? "
Volunteering with AAOE has been both professionally valuable and personally rewarding. It’s expanded my comfort zone in ways I didn’t expect—helping me speak up, share ideas, and grow more confident in my role. Connecting with others who get it has been incredibly grounding. If you’re thinking about volunteering, do it. You don’t need to have all the answers—just a willingness to show up and grow. My experience on the Young and New Professionals Council has made me feel connected, encouraged and empowered. I encourage you to join AAOE’s volunteer community.
Your efforts and enthusiasm are appreciated, Rebecca!
