Mastering Your Competitive Advantage

Many women work their entire careers without stopping the fully access the rules of engagement. They may work exceptionally hard, but they may miss unwritten “rules” of how to really get ahead. This presentation will help you to identify areas that may be holding you back, as well as your success attributes, so that you can finally and fully leverage your uniquely feminine competitive advantages.

Learning Objectives:

    • Identify pitfalls that have been holding you back in your career and your practice.
    • Learn about your individual attributes and how to leverage them for greater success.
    • Develop your uniquely feminine competitive advantages, leveraging the principles of Sun Tzu's Art of War.

The first 50 registrants for the Conference will receive a complimentary copy of Becky's book, Sun Tzu for Women: The Art of War for Winning in Business

What others have to say:

Ready to tap into your inner strategist? Becky takes a bold and brilliant spin on ancient wisdom with her book Sun Tzu for Women: The Art of War for Winning in Business. She brings Sun Tzu’s classic tactics into the modern workplace—showing how women can use their natural strengths in connection, collaboration, and strategy to lead and win.

With real stories from powerhouse women across industries, Becky shares practical, empowering advice to help you navigate challenges, build allies, and come out on top—without ever compromising who you are.

"The author takes Sun Tzu's strategies and tweaks them so they are more female-friendly. While that may sound sexist, it's actually the opposite. The result is a book that provides dozens of straightforward tips on how to be more successful in business, and to understand more completely what your competition is doing and -- best of all -- how to beat them at their own game." -Times Union

"A must read...Sun Tzu for Women" shows how core attributes from the classic "The Art of War" can guide women climbing the corporate ladder.” -Today's Chicago Woman

I Did It Backwards and in High Heels: The Unseen Strength of Women in Healthcare

Description: This dynamic and heartfelt session will explore the resilience, innovation, and leadership of women in healthcare—often achieved under immense pressure and with limited recognition. Inspired by the famous quote about Ginger Rogers doing everything Fred Astaire did “backwards and in high heels,” this talk reframes that metaphor to highlight how women in medicine, nursing, research, and healthcare administration have had to work harder, fight systemic inequities, and lead with grace—all while navigating gender bias, work-life balance, and high-stakes environments.

Attendees will explore key themes including the historical marginalization of women in healthcare, the undervalued emotional labor they perform, and the structural barriers that persist in areas like pay equity and leadership representation. Through powerful storytelling, real-life examples, and a look at how far we’ve come—and how far we still have to go—this session aims to ignite reflection, pride, and a renewed commitment to change. Whether you are early in your career or an established leader, you’ll leave inspired and better equipped to champion equity and inclusion in your workplace.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the historical challenges and modern advancements related to women's roles in healthcare leadership, administration, and clinical practice.
  • Recognize the impact of emotional labor and gender bias on women’s professional experiences in healthcare settings.
  • Analyze current disparities in compensation, promotion, and representation for women in healthcare leadership.
  • Identify practical strategies to advocate for and implement organizational change that supports gender equity and empowers women across all career stages.

Flubs and Dubs: Learning Through the Mistakes That Made Us Stronger

Description: We all have moments we wish we could take back—decisions that didn’t land well, conversations that spiraled, or risks that didn’t pay off. But behind every “flub” lies a “dub” (W!)—a valuable lesson that shapes the leader we become. This interactive session is a chance to reflect, connect, and gain insight from shared experiences of missteps and recoveries in medical practice management.

Attendees will work in small groups to share brief stories of their most memorable professional mistakes—what happened, what they learned, and how it changed their approach. Selected participants will share stories with the full room, followed by an encouraging debrief about leadership resilience and owning your voice.

Whether you're new to practice leadership or have decades of experience, you'll leave this session reminded that mistakes are not the end—they’re often the beginning of deeper growth, courage, and connection.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize that professional mistakes are a natural part of leadership growth and can provide powerful learning opportunities.
  • Reflect on a personal or observed leadership mistake to identify key takeaways and turning points.
  • Practice articulating lessons learned in a supportive, peer-based setting to build communication confidence and resilience.
  • Commit to showing up more fully in leadership roles—speaking up, taking initiative, and leading change without fear of failure
