With over 20 years of experience in healthcare administration, including executive leadership roles, Dr. Neal brings a unique perspective on how AI is impacting operations, education, and workforce development.
Together, we will discuss how organizations can better prepare teams for AI integration, close knowledge gaps, and navigate the growing role of AI in healthcare.

Dr. Laura Kathryn Neal
National Dean of Colleges and Curriculum at DeVry University's College of Health Sciences
Dr. Neal oversees health information management, health information technology, medical coding and billing, and healthcare administration programs. She leads strategic initiatives across curriculum development, assessment, and programmatic accreditation while managing faculty development for the institution.
Before transitioning to academic leadership, Dr. Neal spent over two decades in healthcare administration, including roles as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer in hospital and private healthcare organizations. She has chaired doctoral and master's thesis committees, published two books and several journal articles, and taught courses ranging from healthcare finance to organizational leadership. Her thought leadership on healthcare AI includes work such as "AI, Apps & Oversharing: Healthcare's Rush to Fill Knowledge Gaps Amid Digital Transformation." Her recent presentations include the CAHIIM Summit on Higher Education and the DeVry University Community of Practice Healthcare Symposium, where she addresses the intersection of AI and healthcare workforce development.
Dr. Neal holds a Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership, a Master of Public Health, and an MBA. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves as 2026 President of ACHE of Central Florida. She holds leadership roles with AUPHA, has earned the AUPHA Certificate for Teaching in Healthcare Management, and holds credentials in AI integration and change management from EDUCAUSE.
