The AAOE Industry Relations Advisory Board is a group of ten exhibitor volunteers that provide recommendations on specific aspects of the AAOE exhibitor, sponsor, and advertising programs to better serve AAOE members and improve the vendors' experience.

Jason Miller, Chair

Jason Miller is a graduate of The University of South Florida where he played Men’s Soccer and earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. He has been working for Transworld Systems Inc (TSI) in accounts receivable management since October of 2005. As a District Manager his expertise focus on helping practices reach their financial goals. A lifetime Floridian, Jason lives in Central Florida with his wife and three sons.


F. Todd Davis

Todd Davis has been a member of the AllMeds team since 2012 and currently serves as National Director of Sales. He joined the AllMeds Team after a long career in the Fire/EMS Service. He also served as an Independent Orthopedic Rep for 7 years handling everything from bracing to Implants. Mr. Davis attended Walter State Community College and the University of Tennessee where he earned a Degree in Business Management. He currently serves as a Basketball Coach for 5th/6th Grade boys in Maryville TN. Todd is married to Christy Davis and they have two daughters and three grandchildren.

Brandon Phillips 

Brandon Phillips is the C.O.O. of Physicians Rehab Solution and has specialized in the physician-based physical therapy space for over 15 years.  In that time Brandon has overseen the startup and ongoing management of over 150+ physician-based PT clinics across more than 25 states.  Brandon has been an active member of the AAOE since 2003, as well as a past speaker prior to joining the AAOE Industry Relations Board in 2016.  Brandon is a graduate of Western Kentucky University, and resides in Bowling Green, KY with his wife Abby, two sons Cole and Mason, and his dog Charlie.  In his spare time Brandon enjoys coaching his sons in youth sports, attending concerts with his wife, and is a big fan of WKU Hilltopper Athletics and the Indianapolis Colts.

Melanie Schimmer

Melanie Schimmer, Senior Director of Global Travel & Event Planning for DJO Global, has more than 15 years of tradeshow, event and meeting experience.  Her department oversees all of the company’s global tradeshow participation at over 150 tradeshows, planning and executing over 30 meetings per year ranging from 20 to 1400 participants, sponsorships and incentive programs.  She resides in Southern California and is an avid skier, runner and world traveler.

Ryan Leland

Ryan has 20 years of industry experience, including a complete understanding of clinical practice, new procedures and test, and the current dynamic that affects a physician’s and therapist’s ability to practice while also staying compliant with new government changes and rules.


Ryan began his career as a Corpsman enlisted in the United States Navy. He served with the United States Marines after successfully completing specialized training. The medical knowledge, skills, experience and accomplishments achieved during his service propelled his success in orthopedics following his Military career. His interest in Healthcare Information Technology began while in the military where he was the systems administrator for the 2nd Marine Airwing in addition to other primary responsibilities.


Michaela Meyer

Michaela Meyer is a Senior Experiential Marketing Associate with athenahealth. Michaela is responsible for the project management for the national tradeshow program supporting the IMG sales team at athenahealth, as well as the concierge event program and Medical Group Roundtables. Michaela has been with athenahealth since 2012 and prior to joining athena Michaela worked in the pharmaceutical industry. Michaela has two young daughters, Stella and Poppy, and resides with her family in Newport RI.

Laura Serrano-Haggard

Laura Serrano-Haggard has nearly three decades of healthcare experience in both the clinical and corporate setting and is currently the Senior Manager of Ambulatory Solutions at Nuance Healthcare. In her current role, Laura is responsible for shaping the solutions portfolio for the ambulatory segment to enhance client experience, as well as designing and executing the Go To Market strategy. Prior to Nuance, Laura served as the Director of Marketing for two privately held healthcare IT companies, in succession. Each experienced exponential growth and were consequently acquired by large cap healthcare companies. Before that, she spent seven years at Cerner Corporation in product management, marketing and sales operations. She lives in a Chicago suburb with her husband, two daughters, 20 and 12, and one dog. She enjoys traveling, golf and a great book. 


Patti Steffon

Patricia Steffon is the Trade Show Specialist for Carestream Health Inc.  She has been with Carestream since its inception in 2007 and before that worked at Kodak for over 30 years in various product and marketing positions.  Patti hones her leadership skills as the Events Officer for Women for Wine Sense (Rochester, NY chapter),  former Board Chair for the Women’s Forum of Kodak Employees, and former Operations Director for Gilda’s Club Rochester Annual Gala.  Patti is a lifelong resident of the Rochester, NY area who enjoys travel and new experiences. 

Justin Rockman

Justin Rockman is VP Sales and Business Development at Surgimate and has been active in the healthcare industry for over 10 years. He has broad experience working hands-on with hundreds of orthopaedic surgical practices and surgery centers across the United States.  Justin has worked in numerous successful start-ups and has broad international experience working with clients in the US, Europe and Asia.  Born in Melbourne Australia he has an LLB, BA and MBA. Justin is passionate about technology and providing the very best strategic solutions for his customers. In his spare times he enjoys playing the didgeridoo and running ultra-marathons. He is married to Gila and they have four children. 

Mike McCaslin, CPA

Mike is a principal in Somerset’s Health Care Team. Mike’s areas of expertise include development of single and multi-specialty physician organizations, health system and physician collaboration
structures, ambulatory surgery centers, negotiation of hospital relationships including service line management and joint venturing of facilities, group-to-group joint ventures and group practice mergers, strategic planning, income distribution methodology design and change management, buy/sell/deferred compensation structures and succession planning and operational excellence through data management. Somerset and Mike have worked with over 450 orthopaedic groups with clients in 49 states. Mike has been a member of the AAOS faculty since 1996 and the AAOE faculty since 1999. Mike and Somerset have also been involved with the OrthoForum from inception in 2011. The OrthoForum represents 90 of the largest group practices in the United States representing 3,000 orthopaedic surgeons. Mike also has participated in many state orthopaedic education programs.



Rebecca S. Dean, MA, FACMPE, Board Liaison

Rebecca Dean is the CEO of Sportsmedicine & Orthopaedics Fairbanks, an Orthopaedic Care and Surgical Practice Clinic in Fairbanks, Alaska.  She is a Healthcare Executive Consultant and principal of Dean & Associates. Ms. Dean holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration and Fellow Status in the American College of Medical Practice Executives. Rebecca has more than 29 years of experience in healthcare management  in all aspects of practice operations, efficiency, governance and leadership.  Rebecca lectures on Leadership, Governance, Business Operations, Strategic Planning, Risk Management/Compliance, Contracting, and Physician and Physician Assistant Creative Contracting at the national level.  
In addition to her Medical Practice and Consulting responsibilities, Rebecca has served on several Boards for national business industries. Rebecca currently serves on the AAOE Board of Directors and the Fairbanks Alaska Chamber of Commerce, as well as various committees and task forces.  Rebecca is Past Chair of the American College of Medical Practice Executives and served on the MGMA Board of Directors.
