Hello Fellow AAOE Members,
The Board of Directors and several council chairs met in Indianapolis for our Annual Board Retreat in early October to spend time focusing on key initiatives and needs of the organization. Many updates were shared, ideas were floated, and great discussions were held. My sincere appreciation to the volunteer leadership and staff for their outstanding contributions to the success of this retreat.
I'm very excited about sharing some important updates with everyone:
Capitol Hill Day: Twenty-three members from 16 states conducted 47 visits with Congressional offices on both the House and Senate side. Also, through Action Alerts, members (right from their desks!) reached out to 118 legislators in 35 states with a total of 531 letters. Thank you to all the participating members! To get involved, save the date for our 2018 Capitol Hill Days, September 10 - 12, 2018 and visit XXXXXXX.
Membership: Results of a recent new member survey showed that almost all (93%) new members find their way to AAOE through the recommendation of a colleague, co-worker, employer, or peer. This serves as a great reminder of the power of recommendations and how each of us can help build our membership. Know someone who would benefit from membership in AAOE? Send them this link:
Benchmarking: We had 180 practices complete the AAOE Benchmarking Survey for the 2016 data year. Reports (including trend data) cover up to 7,000 orthopaedic surgeons. To learn more about how to put the data to use in your practice, participate in our FREE webinar.
2018 Annual Conference: Registration is already open and the education lineup is one of the best. The cost to attendees has been reduced by almost 20% ($100), a FREE pre-conference session on Value-Based Care, a way for practices to attend and receive FREE registration and hotel nights (Hosted Buyer Program), and new Brain Break sessions are game-changing additions. Read all about what's new here. After reviewing the full list of classes available, I can confidently assure our membership that this is going to be a wonderful conference.
Data Warehouse: The brand-new AAOE Data Warehouse was launched and soon will be collecting Quality Measures, Patient Reported Outcomes, and Patient Satisfaction Surveys. The plan includes a qualified clinical data registry for MIPS reporting pending CMS approval, and at a considerable savings to our members compared to other data warehouse options. Learn more here [hyperlink].
Education: Participation in the AAOE Casting & Splinting Program continues to ramp up. The Practice Management 101 online course is now available for members on the AAOE Marketplace and the 2018 e-Learning Series lineup has been set with speakers you know and topics you need.
Watch for all of this and more information in the 2018 Annual Conference Preliminary Program, landing in your offices in December.
This is a wonderful time for members of the AAOE to be excited about our future. Join forces and volunteer for a council or committee. Thank you to everyone for helping to bring the AAOE to the next level!
Thank you,
