Washington, DC - The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced a new 45-day extension to the deadline to accept the Terms and Conditions for Provider Relief Fund payments. This extension means that healthcare providers now have 90 days from the date they first received payment to accept HHS' Terms and Conditions or return the distributed money.

Many providers received automatic payments deposited in their bank accounts on April 10, 2020, under this extension, providers who received these April 10 payments will have until July 9, 2020 to accept the terms and conditions.

HHS' deadline of June 3, 2020 to supply revenue information for additional payments from the provider relief payments is likely still firm. HHS did not address this deadline in its May 22 news release announcing the extension for attestation and accepting the terms and conditions. If a practice is looking to receive additional funds from the second tranche of general distribution funding, AAOE recommends submitting your financial data to HHS by the original June 3, 2020 deadline.
