INDIANAPOLIS, December 28 – The American Association of Orthopaedic Executives (AAOE) has been approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to participate in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) for 2019 as a Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR).

Why does this matter? Orthopaedic practices can use the AAOE Registry to complete all of their MIPS reporting, including the quality, promoting interoperability measures, and improvement activity categories, at our affordable rate of $200 per provider. The number of quality measures supported by the AAOE Registry has increased from 27 to 60 and practices will be able to include physical therapists in their reporting, as well.

The AAOE Registry is just one component of the AAOE Data Warehouse that also provides the ability to collect patient satisfaction survey and patient reported outcome data.  “With the addition of new surveys and support for additional performance categories, the QCDR has grown into a MIPS-centered solution for large and small practices,” says 2018 -2019 AAOE President Karen Sollar, CMPE, CEO, Webster Orthopedics. “We look forward to continue growth in this valuable resource and continued growth in participation.”

This is an important initiative of AAOE to give back to the orthopaedic community by providing all orthopaedic practices, no matter their practice size, setting, or structure, with a one-stop-shop for their data collection, benchmarking, and reporting needs at a truly affordable rate. The inclusive rate includes all components of the Data Warehouse and access to MIPS reporting assistance and guidance from AAOE
