Healthcare executives, physicians, nurses, and physical therapists are invited to the 2019 American College of Perioperative Medicine (ACPM) Interdisciplinary Conference on Orthopedic Value-Based Care to be held February 9-11 in Newport Beach, California.

This event brings together all participants in the surgical journey for education and networking geared toward the successful implementation of orthopedic value-based care. The emphasis is on a TEAM approach, striving to break down silos and learn best practices together.

“Value-based care consists of three components, a financial component, an operational component, and a clinical component,” says ACPM President Zeev Kain, MD. “Treating this concept in isolation, as a financial model, will all but assure failure in planning and execution.”

Conference attendees are one-third executives such as AAOE members, one-third orthopedic surgeons, and one-third nurses and nurse managers. To engage all attendees and build teams that are learning across disciplines, each educational block features a session focused on one of three key tracks: clinical, operational, and financial.

“Forty percent of all attendees are part of a TEAM of three or more members,” adds Kain. “This is a unique conference with a unique approach!”

Additionally, two interactive boot camps are available for clinicians and administrators to learn the cutting-edge trends in orthopedic perioperative care together.

“AAOE is proud to support the ACPM Interdisciplinary Conference on Orthopedic Value-Based Care,” says AAOE CEO Addy Kujawa, CAE. “One of the keys to successful implementation of value-based care is having the entire patient care team on the same page. This interdisciplinary approach keeps the patient at the center of the discussion at all times, leading to better patient outcomes.”

AAOE Past President and current Board Member Jan Vest, MBA, CEO Emeritus of Signature Medical Group in St. Louis, Missouri, shares his experience at last year’s conference. “The Interdisciplinary Conference featured national leaders in value-based care. It was an in-depth educational conference with valuable information. As an AAOE Board Member, I was honored to be part of the faculty.”

Hello AAOE. It has been a bit since I have been active with you all, but I do want to endorse this conference and encourage you and your physicians to consider. It is a wonderful endeavor to bridge all aspects of the orthopaedic surgical patient. Leaders from manufacturers, insurance, hospital, ASC, etc attend and contribute. Hope to see some of my dear AAOE colleagues there. Marian McCann Kleinman
