Sam Santschi, JD, Practice Administrator for Diana L. Kruse, MD, attended last year's Capitol Hill Day to advocate on issues impacting his practice and other AAOE members' practices--in particular, the cuts that were going to take effect in computed radiology. But he shares an added bonus is how "fun and cool" it is to attend this annual event held in Washington, DC.

Video Transcript:

SAM SANTSCHI: Well initially it was for selfish reasons [that I attended the 2017 Capitol Hill Day]. One of the things that we were trying to stop was the the cuts that were going to take effect this year in computed radiology, because at the time we didn't have the full digital radiology solution that that was required by by CMS and there was a penalty associated with that.

The other three initiatives that we were talking about were very important for our membership, and I mean let's face it. [Capitol Hill Day is] a really fun and cool thing to go to.

It's hard not to be cynical about our political process, but when you go to DC and you're in the trappings of all that, it is a cool thing to do and it's very fun.
