Evaluating your practice’s RCM performance can be tricky. While there is no shortage of sources offering helpful suggestions on which metrics to use and how to derive them, the explanations are often oversimplified and, in many cases, do not directly translate to your practice. This session will explore common myths and misconceptions associated with Key Performance Indicators like Gross and Net Collection Percentage, Days in A/R, 120+ Aging, and Payments per RVU. Each metric will be discussed with a focus on variables that can skew the numbers and make them appear to be outside the “norm” (when they may, in fact, be consistent with expected performance).

Additionally, you will be shown a simple but effective method for projecting monthly revenue using First Pass Pay Rate and Expected Percentage of Medicare Collected. Deriving a reliable formula for Monthly Revenue Projections will enable you to quickly identify potential cash flow risks and underlying RCM problems.

At the conclusion of this session, each attendee will have a fresh perspective on the common metrics used to evaluate physician practice performance and how those metrics can be used in combination with monthly revenue projections to accurately assess RCM performance.
