Welcome!  AAOE is THE association developed exclusively for orthopaedic practice executives and their staff. 

With an AAOE membership, you will have countless opportunities to connect with members, gain access to vital practice management tools, and participate in the best education for orthopaedic practice professionals. 

AAOE does not accept representatives of vendor companies into membership.


 

Membership Categories

Individual Member

  • Qualifying candidates have an interest in orthopaedic or musculoskeletal practice management (currently employed) and/or orthopaedic surgeons/physicians (currently practicing or retired but involved in practice operations); and/or a desire to become an orthopaedic practice executive.
  • Examples of an orthopaedic setting whose employees are eligible for membership include: academic institutions, multi-specialty practices, single specialty practices, hospitals, and health system owned practices.
  • Individual members shall have the right to vote, may serve on AAOE committees, may serve as chairpersons on committees, and may serve on the AAOE Board of Directors.
  • May not be employed by a vendor company.

Multiple Members of Single Organization

  • Employees of the same organization may pool their memberships under their organization's name to qualify for a dues discount and to simplify the renewal process. Dues for OrgMembers are based on the total number of memberships affiliated with the organization.
  • Each OrgMember must qualify and apply for his or her membership separately.
  • Each OrgMember has personal AAOE log-in credentials and access to the same full benefits of an individual member.
  • Examples of an orthopaedic setting whose employees are eligible for membership include: academic institutions, multi-specialty practices, single specialty practices, hospitals, and health system owned practices.
  • Members at the manager level or above shall have the right to vote at general meetings, may serve on AAOE committees, may serve as chairpersons on committees, and may serve on the Board of Directors. 

Emeritus Member

  • Qualifying candidates must be former active members of the AAOE in good standing for a minimum of ten (10) years.
  • Emeritus members must be a minimum of fifty-five (55) years of age.
  • Emeritus members must be permanently retired from orthopaedic practice administration, ambulatory healthcare administration, or multi-specialty healthcare administration.
  • May not be employed by a company that is classified by AAOE as a vendor.  
  • Emeritus members may not vote or serve on the AAOE Board of Directors.

Student Member

  • Qualifying candidates must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited degree program in healthcare administration.
  • Student members may not be employed by an orthopaedic practice , thus qualifying for a different membership type.
  • Student members may not serve on committees, may not vote, and may not serve on the Board of Directors, but otherwise have access to full member benefits.
