Do's and Dont's for Completing a Presentation Proposal

Ready to Rock your Session Proposal?
Here are some Do's and Don'ts to make your application stand out in the crowd. 

Please DO:

  • Provide a complete and thoughtful response to all of the questions included in the  Call for Presentations. Download a PDF copy of the questions to help you prepare.
  • Discuss the educational content and value of your proposed session.
  • Include tools and resources that attendees will be able to take away from the session in your proposal. 
  • Complete your submission prior to the deadline.
  • Contact the AAOE Education Department with any questions. 
  • Rush through the proposal or provide incomplete answers.
  • Assume that the Call for Presentation process does not apply to you.
  • Sell your services or mention your products in the proposal.
  • Miss out on this opportunity to present at the 2019 Annual Conference!

When completing a presentation proposal, know that you will be asked to:

  • Include a presentation title.
  • Select the appropriate track and topic area.
  • Select the session length and format.
  • Detail 2-5 learning objectives.
  • Include a presentation summary (100 words or fewer) that will be used for marketing the session).
  • Include a presentation description (up to 500 words) that will be used by the conference planning committee to select sessions that best match the core objectives of AAOE educational content.
  • Submit your own bio, as well as the bios of any other presenters. All bios have a maximum of 100 words.
