Rockville, MD - The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is asking healthcare providers to submit the physical function patient reported outcomes (PROs) they use to determine a patient's functional status prior-to and following treatment. The PROs will then be used by the Agency to test collection tools in electronic health records (EHRs) and other health IT products.

Why it Matters: The data collection tools tested by AHRQ could one day find their way into government policy and be required for use by providers billing Medicare. As it stands now, the measures being tested are only for tool development and testing but it's important for specialists to submit measures so that these can be considered during the development and testing process.

Next Steps: Submissions are due April 1, 2018 and should be emailed to Non-electronic responses can be mailed to Janey Hsiao, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, 5600 Fishers Lane, Rockville, MD 20857, Mailstop: 06E73A.

Development and testing will begin in Fall 2018.
