Members Benefit From Advisory Board Enhancement of Vendor Experience

AAOE’s vendor program has grown considerably over the past year. Developed to continue this expansion, the Industry Relations Advisory Board is comprised of vendors committed to supporting orthopaedic practice professionals and helping to provide the best experience possible for all exhibitor and sponsor vendors. By increasing open communication between vendors and attendees, the Industry Relations Advisory Board aims to enhance vendors’ experience in order to attract and retain more vendors to support the ongoing creation of AAOE educational programs, as well as opportunities for the AAOE Annual Conference.

Vendors make a number of AAOE member benefits possible, including annual conference, webinars, and other educational programs. Having the Advisory Board as a point of contact between vendors and members will ensure that these programs not only continue to exist, but also that they better bridge the connect between vendors and members. The Advisory Board can provide their unique experience and insight to help attract conference exhibitors and sponsors who provide the products and services attendees are seeking, and by enhancing the experience for these exhibitors and sponsors, keep them coming back each year. By being involved in the planning process, the Advisory Board volunteers can also serve as onsite ambassadors to other vendors at conference so that exhibitors feel comfortable knowing they have onsite peer-to-peer support.

Although this is the Advisory Board’s first year, it is an extension of the group of vendors who previously met once a year at the Annual Summer Planning Meeting with the AAOE Annual Conference Committee. As AAOE’s vendor program grew, so did the group’s responsibilities. They began meeting on a monthly basis, which transformed into the Industry Relations Advisory Board that exists today.

For its first year, the Advisory Board wants to ensure that AAOE members and vendors are aware that the Advisory Board can be utilized as resources for questions related to exhibiting or sponsoring for the AAOE Annual Conference or other educational programs. Particularly at conference, the Advisory Board will be available in the Exhibit Hall and at registration to assist exhibitors by answering questions about exhibiting, referring them to the appropriate AAOE staff member, helping them navigate the conference space, or providing help in any way they can! They are also planning ways to help exhibitors prior to conference to ensure their experience onsite is as successful and meaningful as possible.

The advice and support of the Industry Relations Advisory Board will help the AAOE Annual Conference, webinar program, and educational offerings continue to grow—ensuring these key member benefits can continue to improve and be offered at low cost.
