The Department of Justice and the states of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and the District of Columbia have filed two lawsuits this morning to block the proposed mergers of Aetna-Humana and Anthem-Cigna. The DOJ and the plaintiff states cite higher "health insurance prices, reduced benefits, less innovation, and worse service for over a million Americans" as reason for blocking the proposed mergers.
